











A drawing of Tragin the Trickster, done as a character study some years back. I think he looks particularly piratical in this one, and I'm quite proud of his wonderful beard (as he is too, I'm sure!! - though he seems to have shaved it off by the time I did his portrait in the CG section!)
I used some photo references for this drawing - dressing up in approximations of the clothes I wanted for him and taking pictures with a remotely-triggered camera. Although the final drawing usually differs hugely from these photos, I find that it's the easiest way to get complicated things like the folds of clothing right - I could never have 'made up' the creases in his sleeves here for instance.
