A pencil drawing of a younger Teela Darkstalk, done as a character concept some years ago.
In fantasy, I tend to prefer the 'low fantasy' style, exemplified perhaps by the work of Fritz Leiber, Jack Vance, C.J.Cherryh, Mary Gentle and others, dealing with 'ordinary' people and smaller (though still extraordinary) events. I love the minutiae of their created worlds and I always try very hard with my fantasy creations to convey a very believable reality and real people with flaws and imperfections - not too many chainmail bikinis and supermodel warriors!
I really like the practicality of Teela's clothes and acoutrements in this picture...
Teela figures in a novel that I've been attempted to complete for some years. There are sonme extracts from this in the Writing section of the site.
