A fairly early attempt at a CG illustration, this female 'terminator'-style cyborg with her glowing, translucent limbs was made up from several different renders in Poser. These were then layered on to each other in Photoshop with different layer effects to produce the quite complex lighting effects. The targeting laser emerging from her right eye was rendered within Poser itself, using a simple rectongle (thinned to almost nothingness) with a texture, transparency and ambient lighting applied to it. All the other texture maps (with the exception of the ones on the internal armature within her limbs) were created in Photoshop. The limbs themselves are the wonderful 'Cyborg I.T.A.01' models by Andygraph - available from the Renderosity store.
I was particularly proud of the various levels of translucency that I managed to create in this image - at the time I was really only just beginning to come to grips with the various different effects you could achieve using texture, bump and transparency maps within Poser, as well as ambient and internal lighting of the various materials.
If you would like to see this picture in more detail, this image links to a slightly larger version. The larger version is 41 k in size.
Rendered in Poser 4, with original texture maps and post-work in Photoshop.
