Eastenders - Alan Grout

- just a spit and a cough

I had a brief visit to the successor to 'Angels' - Eastenders, courtesy of Stephen Butcher, who was the director of these episodes. As Alan Grout(!), from the council's housing department, I became humourously involved in a dispute among the various generations of the Fowler family over a possible house move, planned without the knowledge of the fearsome Lou Beale (Anna Wing).

Not a big part, but nice to have been even peripherally involved towards the beginning of a series that, love it or loathe it, has become an institution and which re-defined forever how UK soaps and soap-stars were thought of by the media, the profession and the public!

Apologies for the crappiness of the accompanying pictures - they were captured from the only record I have of this episode, on a VHS tape that's rather past its sell-by date!
